Pigs Can Fly: A guesthouse story.

It was our first time staying in a guesthouse. By the time the wifey got to checking out the hotels, they were all booked, and so, we ended up with Pig Fly.

The room was exactly what the pictures showed. It was clean and looked new. Much like a boutique hotel. Elegantly cute. There was a TV, an audio player, a tuck-away mini kitchen, a fridge, and most importantly- wifi.

Chan and his friend (the guys running the place) were nice and friendly. They waited for us 'til after midnight when our flight got delayed. Little P. got a nice little gift from them- it is a pig, of course.

We had no problem getting where we wanted to go in South Korea. Pig Fly is seconds away from the Hongik University (popularly known as Hongdae) subway station, and from there you can got to pretty much any place that is worth checking out.

Die Trees, Die!

Just like real Ninjas they have crept up unnoticed. (Or, like me, nobody is paying attention.) The same guys responsible for putting out the LEGO Atlantis and LEGO City series of activity books, Penguin, are at it again. On August two new activity books with minifigures based on the new LEGO Ninjago theme will be released. Also on August, expected to come out are two LEGO City storybooks with minifigures and accessories and the LEGO: The Official Annual 2012. Then another LEGO City activioty book with minifigure comes out on October.

Now, I do not know how popular the Ninjago theme is among AFOLs (It sure is a hit with the kids, especially in Australia as this news article would show), but I am getting these activity books when they become available. We have both the Atlantis and two of the City, with the other two expected to get here in a couple of weeks. Bang for your buck, these books are. Definetly worth adding to The LEGO Ideas Book and the Brickmasters. Little P. loves the activities, and it is always good when the minifigure population count grows. All that for a tiny fraction of what you would spend on a Collectible Minifgure.

None of these book are availble for preorder as of now. No cover images too. Keep your eyes peeled.

The Stuff That Makes Up The World

Getting the LEGO digital camera somehow rekindled my love for LEGO bricks and building. Little P. and I plan to amass tons of basic bricks for gazillions of constructing fun. Never mind the themed sets. I think having a brick stock and just grabbing some images off the net would be more fun. Plus, we love multicolor builds, "real" colors are just plain dull.

Where Is Spongebob?

Kids came, expecting to see the yellow sponge. Only The Chinese hopper showed up. I too, was disappointed.

I Got Me A Hat

Our (Little Popot and me) first time in Enchanted Kingdom.

Great day.
Nice place.
Good people.
Fun, fun stuff.

Nah. I bring my own magic.

"Can I borrow your hat, please..." Her weapon. That look. I dare you to say "no".

The Vanishing Hand Trick.

Night carnival.

Pictures are from my toy camera.

I Am Wearing White Make Up

Picked up Popot's Halloween getup. After some drama, we managed to convince her to go with the "pretty" pink witch. Dia De Los Muertos, after all, is not for the pretty princesses.

I had the 4 Treasures Roast at Chef Choi's. The first time I ate there I was so impressed, not this time. I will come back again, only to verify if today was only because of the big "midnight sale" crowd.

Slow Burn

A friend came to pick up some stuff. Had him drinking against his will. Just like before, he would not touch the Chinese Greens. And so, we left them alone. Had some pineapples, cheese, and hotdogs to go with the drinks. Ah yeah, some Cornbits too. I was alone after two bottles of San Miguel All-Malt. Until Little Popot decided to join me for the rest of the way.

My little one has picked up my love of the greens. Nuts, not beer. And so, we had some heart-to-heart talk over a pack of pistachios. I found out people these days give their children nicknames like Pakwan and Jersey, or even Tabby, and that there are small people in our bath rooms.

Lasheng!

Nah. Was just playing. I do not even think you can get her drunk, even when she starts drinking. She might have gotten  a few (very, very few! hehe) things from Big Popot, but inside, she is ALL me
