I Am Wearing White Make Up
Picked up Popot's Halloween getup. After some drama, we managed to convince her to go with the "pretty" pink witch. Dia De Los Muertos, after all, is not for the pretty princesses.

I had the 4 Treasures Roast at Chef Choi's. The first time I ate there I was so impressed, not this time. I will come back again, only to verify if today was only because of the big "midnight sale" crowd.

Oh My! What Big Balls You Have!!
Today, we went to Mall Of Asia, the most overrated mall in the country.
Not the original. But, would do for now. Popot still loves these hot babies. We also had some pizza.

Practiced a little blind framing using the Ixus. Preparing for my new toy.

Miguel liked MOA. I am still wondering why.

Maybe because of the big balls.

Gigantic, big big love.
This blog has been thoroughly neglected. I was never busy all those days, only lazy. Fact, lazier than ever. I have never been known to be NOT lazy. People would be surprised if they find out that I actually have a job.
Well, let us get it on with a bunch of blog entries.
28 August
Just got back from Makansutra. The food was okay and really filling. I loved the Char Kway Teow, the Pad Thai was good too, as well as the dimsum (though I missed out on the Hakaw). Little Popot had her noodles with soup (I forgot the name), and enjoyed 2 servings of the Fish and Chips. I had no problem loading up on the Bandung with Chichaw and the Michael Jackson, which is a soya based drink (I think). Big thanks to Gene of Makansutra, who greeted us right at the door and was a really gracious, not to mention generous, host all through out. We brought home a few nice prizes from the raffle for Philmug members.

(Sorry, no pictures of the food. I was too busy gobbling them up.)
If you want to try out some good Singaporean/Malay dishes, Makansutra Asian Food Village is at the 2nd floor of the Manila Ocean Park Complex.
23 August
Finally went to see Disney Pixar's UP today. 3D is the way to go for this kind of stuff. Fantastic movie. Heart warming, funny, had enough action. Popot was on the edge of her seat, literally, the whole time.

19 August
Man, kids just do not forget a thing. When we watched Transformers 2, Popot saw the preview of Disney Pixar's UP and I made the wrong move of telling her we would go see it when it comes up for showing. She has been reminding (as in pestering) me about it since.

Cooking Master Boy
I made wantons last night. First time. I have been wanting to make those dumplings for ages, and I finally did last night. "Perfect for snacking! Would go well with instant yakisoba." The wifey liked them. Little P loved them fried. Fact, she likes even just the "warps". Crazy kid.
Watch out for my sushi!

Puff Fiction
Like always, I have been bumming around the house, getting fatter by the minute, still waiting for "my box" to arrive. I finished my sixth cream puff, another product of my wife's ninja baking skills, and was humming Sydney Forrest's Once In A Blue Moon, missing the wife who is going to be away again starting tomorrow night. The baked goodies are so good they almost drove me to tears.

I did ask the wifey to come up with 600 pieces for when she is away. All I got was a laugh.

A Taste Of Life
Apparently, the week that just ended was not that interesting. No real blog entries. Times like this I wish I have a cellphone-digicam. Nothing beats a picture blog. Haha.
We finally got a taste of Pepper Lunch. I liked it. Did not love it. Maybe the other dishes would hit me with more impact.
Speaking of food, my Canadian brother has put up his own blog, Taste Asia. Now, this guy can cook. Hop on over there if you are into good food.

Cooked
Was out of the office for some work related stuff. Saw a few good things, mostly crap though. Stayed a little more than an hour before I bounced.
Caloocan carved a win.

Manila brought the heat.

Yes folks, that there is this year's Iron Chef.
(Caloocan boys, bow down to the one you serve!)

Looks edible enough.

Had to do some editing out, backgrounds were annoying. Not my shots, see, no angles.

Hello 2009
We welcomed 2009 with a single kick-ass "tororot" (Yes, Little P calls it that). No firecrackers. No fireworks. I figured our neighbors can provide that kind of noise, and they did.
The food was great. Big Popot and ate did a fantastic job. My favorites would be the baked dory and the little bacon-wrapped chicken thingies. Ah yes, the Japanese Kani salad was awesome too.
Lonely? Or hungry?

The spread.

Yup, hungry!

We planned to view the fireworks from the top floor. So, when all the popping started we went up, only to be greeted by a non-visible Makati skyline because of all the smoke (smog). It was raining too. So, when we went down to check if people were lighting firecrackers there were none. Oh well, hearing them was good enough.
