Oversharing

This blog is dead. Do not blame it on my neighbor securing his interwebs. Somehow there is no longer that much of a need for sharing, no matter how little I like to share. We have become crazy with all the sharing. I am thinking a sentence, maybe a photo, would be better if churned out regularly. Like a Tweet or a Facebook status update, only more mysterious (I hope). Maybe I would even throw in some action words and adjectives to make it more fun.

Okay. Do not want to keep you too long. I myself have a lot of FB status to make fun of.

A Taste Of Life

Apparently, the week that just ended was not that interesting. No real blog entries. Times like this I wish I have a cellphone-digicam. Nothing beats a picture blog. Haha.

We finally got a taste of Pepper Lunch. I liked it. Did not love it. Maybe the other dishes would hit me with more impact.

Speaking of food, my Canadian brother has put up his own blog, Taste Asia. Now, this guy can cook. Hop on over there if you are into good food.

My Kazakh Wife

So, I have a Kazakh wife again. Which, some may say, is not unlike having any other "kind" of wife. Yet, something feels very different with having a wife based in the city rich with apples.

Little Popot never got sick when I had a Vietnamese wife, or when I had an Iranian wife, not even when I had a Hungarian wife. I was thinking it just might be me, then Little P got sick again. The whole of last night was hard for me, and harder for the small one. Missed work today because of that. She is fine now. But I cannot help but think of a connection.

Yup, I know, I am totally nuts.

CDP What???

While everyone was going crazy over the Air Jordan 11/12 CDP release I was in bed getting very little rest. I got in really late from our company Christmas party (which sucked, just like all the previous ones). After about three hours of sleep I had to get up for Little Popot's Christmas presentation.

We arrived at the school around one in the afternoon. The place was already packed. We had no choice but to sit in the back rows. That meant our point-and-shoot digital camera would be useless. It was up to the trusted vintage video camera to do her thing.

It was a good show. Of course, it was not perfect, far from it, but you cannot (and should not) expect much from bunch of preschoolers. The kids all looked so cute in their various outfits. The show lasted for more than two hours with each kid going on stage for three to four times to perform. Little Popot was part of the opening, singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. She also went up to dance to Pearly Shells and to some hip-hop song that I really do not like. The final act was all the children going on stage to sing Give Love On Christmas Day.

Sorry, no pictures, for reasons already stated above. Teaser videos will be up soon. I just need to get some shut eye first.

Tiny Droplets Of Smiles

We had a food feeding for street children at work today. I did not expect that many kids to show up. I have seen four or five of these these kids every morning, I did not realize there are more of them there.

Several times I have been in real slum areas for some form of service, whether gift giving, talks about community business and cooperatives, feeding program, and even day care stuff. I have never really understood how parents (if you can call them that) bring children into this world and then turn their backs on them. You cannot put the blame on just one thing or one person. There are so many reasons that contribute to the state that they are in. But ultimately, it all falls on the parents. And it is so sad that most of them would not own up to the responsibility.

Chicken adobo!

Quail eggs.

Yummy! But, no rice??

Here you go, sir, steaming.

Students with some of the kids.

LOL! Mr. Baya having trouble with the kids.

Students doing the feeding.

Adobo FTW!

Lining up for some gifts.

I know one meal would not change the lives of these children. It is not even enough to ease their hunger for the day. Out there are people who have the means to do more. Hopefully, they also have the heart.

Off Yahoo 360

I have moved. Finally. I waited, patiently I must say, for the Yahoo 360 people to get their act together. But they just could not get it done. So, here I am, starting fresh. Prior to the move, I have saved all my old 360 blog posts in anticipation of it shutting down. It has not shut down, yet. With bloggers jumping ship by the minute, I am sure they will soon. What used to be the king of the non-business side of the blogsphere has fallen. I do not think it will ever get up.

With 360 I stayed off social commentaries and centered around my life as a dad to Little Popot, a husband to Big Popot, a toy collector, a beer drinker (an alcoholic?), and a voracious eater. Here, am thinking of going all out and posting anything that my mind hitches on to. So, be ready. This is going to be a really bumpy ride.
